Tipsy Tuesday: Oprah's Overnight Pedicure

So I'm always telling people about this tip because it's so incredibly cool.  I can't take credit for it because I saw this on Oprah.  I tried it, and it worked!  After a summer of exhausting heat, sandals, flip flops, and water parks, your heels surely aren't cracked and gross like mine because you're more awesome than me.  ;)

However!  IF you do have a bit of cracking and dryness on your feet, do this!
"Oprah's overnight pedicure"
1.  At night just before bed, wipe your feet down with a salicylic acid pad (I use Clearasil, but you can also use Stridex or even generic if there is one.)
2.  Then put petroleum jelly all over your feet and put on a pair of socks.

That's it!  Wake up in the morning, and see the difference!  If your feet are really bad, then do it consistently for a week, and I promise you'll see a significant change.  This works for me better than going and getting a pedi as far as my heels are concerned.

Have any of you tried this already?  Did it work for you?  Do you have another home remedy for cracked heels?

  1. You are the ONLY one with bad feet. ;-) Just kidding! I'll be trying this soon!

  2. Bag Balm is great for cracked feet or fingers (for those of you in the higher altitudes) ;o) It comes...or it used to come in a green square tin can. I used it on my babies bottoms when they were chapped. Farmers use it on pigs utters...I know, eww! But IT WORKS!!! However, I will try this idea you've shared for sure...I'm up for the challenge because I've got challenging, calloused feet. Thanks for the tip ;o) Cindy

  3. Anything that works on pig utters has got to work on cracked heels! Ha! Thanks for the tip!

I love to hear from you!
